Regenerative People

Why Renewal Is Key to Lasting Leadership

We are running our lives, teams, and organizations as though our resources are unlimited. They are not. Regenerative People names the cost of that assumption and offers a different way to work, lead, and live.

Drawing on six decades of combined coaching and consulting experience, Janet M. Harvey and Silvia Tassarotti trace the shift from extraction to regeneration—from optimizing outcomes to evolving with them, from controlling uncertainty to

partnering with it, and from isolating to protect what we have to interconnecting with what sustains us.

Regenerative People moves through four expanding circles: the personal renewal that makes all of this possible, the leadership practices that build resilient teams, the organizational models that generate long-term value rather than short-term extraction, and the community-level shifts that make regeneration collective rather than individual.

Each chapter pairs concepts with reflective questions and practices, inviting readers to slow down and apply what they’re learning rather than simply collect more ideas. The authors write as guides, not lecturers, walking alongside readers the way Virgil walked beside Dante, offering models and questions in search of the reader’s own answers.

For coaches, executives, and anyone who senses that the old operating model is reaching its limits, this book offers both the diagnosis and the practice: a way to notice drift before it costs something irreplaceable and to deliberately choose a more enduring way to lead.
