Yasmine Sherif

Human Rights Lawyer, Public Speaker, and UN Veteran

Yasmine Sherif is a human rights lawyer, a UN veteran, author, public speaker, and cofounder of the forthcoming Humanity Brand. She also serves as senior global ambassador to the Varkey Foundation and as an expert commentator for Diplomatic Courier. She has over thirty years of experience working in conflict zones across the globe, from Asia and the Balkans to Latin America, the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa, and held leadership positions under pressure and in crisis for decades. She recently served for over eight years as the executive director of Education Cannot Wait for UNICEF. She has an LL.M from Stockholm University (Sweden) and has worked as an adjunct professor at Long Island University, also guest lecturing at Columbia University, the University of Hawai‘i, Northwestern University, and New York University. She is the author of The Case for Humanity: An Extraordinary Session, which was released in 2015. She has received numerous awards, including the annual award “Sweden’s UN Friend of the Year,” the Global Educator Award in the United States, “Who’s Who in America” in 2024, and the prestigious Mother Teresa Award.
