John Grover

Adventure-Tested Leadership, Performance Coach

John Grover is an entrepreneur, outdoorsman, and former technology executive whose career and life have been shaped by a relentless pursuit of challenge, growth, and meaningful work.

After formative years working in Glacier National Park and guiding fly-fishing trips in Wyoming, Grover carried those lessons into the emerging technology industry during the dot-com era. At twenty-seven, he became a partner in a struggling IT services company. Over the next two decades, he helped grow the firm (now called Endsight) into a nationally recognized managed services provider with more than one hundred and seventy employees and more than thirty million dollars in annual revenue before completing his exit in 2024.

Outside of business, Grover has pursued demanding terrain around the world, including surfing, climbing, backcountry snowboarding, endurance racing, and desert canyoneering.

He lives in Northern California with his wife, Sarah, and their son. Three Streams is his first book.

Three Streams

My Wild Pursuit of Meaning, Money, and Mastery

“One of the best ways to learn is through stories. When a storyteller does it right, we laugh, we cry, and we remember. In Three Streams, John Grover has woven impactful life lessons into stories that leave us not only smiling but also smarter.”

—Jocko Willink, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Extreme Ownership

A gripping memoir and founder’s journey about rejecting the false choice between adventure and ambition.

When John Grover shattered his ankle deep inside a remote Utah slot canyon more than twelve hours from rescue, every belief he held about strength, independence, and success was put to the test. Unable to climb out on his own, he was forced to rely completely on others. That moment became the lens through which he would finally understand the lessons a lifetime of adventure had been teaching him.

Three Streams is the story of how a skinny kid from Alabama set out west at twenty years old with little more than determination and two hundred dollars. Along the way, he witnesses a grizzly bear attack in Glacier National Park, guides fly fishermen on Wyoming’s Snake River, and ultimately helps build a thriving IT services company amid California’s tech boom.

At the book’s heart is a simple but powerful framework. A fulfilling life requires three streams: meaning, money, and mastery. When all three are flowing together, you won’t have to choose between being rich and being happy. You’ll be both.

Blending compulsively readable coming-of-age memoir with hard-earned business insight, Three Streams reveals what’s possible when we believe in ourselves and when others believe in us—even before we do.
